Kayaking (Sremski Karlovci – Surduk)

This tour is not a hiking tour, but I think it deserves to be mentioned. Kayaking is one of many interesting ways to enjoy the nature. All you need is a kayak and paddles. And a good mood. Of course, it is necessary to make an inquiry about the route you intend to row.

Sremski Karlovci are located 80 km from Belgrade. It is about an hour of drive by the highway Belgrade – Novi Sad. We started our tour from the restaurant “Dunav”, on the banks of the Danube.

The fastest way to sail is where the maximum depth is, by the mainstream of the river. We rowed close to the shore, on the right bank, we wanted to avoid a close encounter with a barge or some large boat. We sailed for 37 km, which is the distance between Sremski Karlovci and Surduk. We spent 8 hours on the river, of which we made a break for about 45 minutes. Our average speed was 5 km/h. We passed under the bridge near Beska, we pass the junction of rivers Tisza and Danube, rested on numerous islets on the Danube and enjoy all the time. We sailed near Beska, Krcedin, Stari and Novi Slankamen. We saw cows, goats, pigs, swans, ducks, snakes, frogs, fish… There’s nothing more to say, here are the photos from this unusual tour:
