MEDVEDNIK (1244 m)

The path, to the top of Medvednik (Bear), leads from the mountain lodge “Krusik”, which is located at 850 m a.s.l.

From Belgrade, you must drive by the Ibar highway, to the town of Valjevo (about 100 km) and then for another 30 km, to the saddle called Debelo Brdo. At Valjevo, follow the signs to Bajina Basta. On the way to the saddle, you will pass the dam Rovni and through the village of Pocuta. At Debelo Brdo, on the right side, you will see the turn, which leads to the mountain lodge. The road is unpaved but, if you drive carefully, you will reach the lodge. Marked path starts from the lodge. The path is mostly gravel and without lookouts. On the way to the top, you can take a break at spring “Kedina voda” and refresh yourself with clear, mountain water.

Markings will take you to the only viewpoint on the path, below the top. From this place, you will see mountain Bobija.

From this lookout, you will walk to the top by the ridge. The path is marked very well. Distance between the highest peak and the mountain lodge is about an hour and a half.
